Apprenticeship opportunities are available for a wide range of industries, from skilled crafts to health care, information technology and advanced manufacturing. Approved titles include positions, such as Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic; Automotive Service Technician; Carpenter; Chemical Laboratory Technician; Childcare Assistant; CNC Machinist; Community Health Worker; Direct Support Professional; Electrician; Electro-mechanical Technician; Industrial Manufacturing Technician; Network Engineer; Pipefitter; Plant Maintenance - Electrician; Security Analyst; Software Developer; Tool & Die Maker; and Welding.

If your company has a registered apprenticeship through the NYSDOL, then you may be eligible to get the related instruction portion of an apprenticeship partly/fully covered. There is funding available for pre-apprenticeships to get interested candidates prepared to enter an apprenticeship program.

It’s also important to note that some employers may be eligible for SUNY funding to pay for their apprenticeship training. Employers operating in Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, IT/Cybersecurity/Artificial Intelligence and other sectors outside of the construction trades can participate in the .
